My kids and I did this last summer while camping. They loved it and learned about chemistry at the same time. It can be dangerous, so take proper precautions if you decide to try it.

These are really great ideas. I'm going to build one of these tables and boxes this summer.

Explore the Brain like never before

This is actually a brain atlas and interactive microscope you can use online. It shows more than 10 million megapixels of scanned images of serial sections of both human and non-human brains. It has a high-speed database for researching and retrieving information about brain structure and function over the internet. Right now, you ca see complete brain atlas datasets for Macaca mulatta, C. aethiops, Felis catus, and Mus musculus.

Creativity: Letter to Yourself

When you let your conscious mind take a break from the task, your subconscious mind continues to process the information in the background. Sometimes, insightful ideas will flash into your mind. To encourage this, you can try this exercise.

Sit down and write a letter to yourself about the problem you are working on. Pretend that you are writing the letter to someone who knows nothing about the project and give a good description including everything that you have done to date. Be as detailed as possible. Don't forget to mention any constraints that are imposed on the problem and what types of solutions are preferred. Then, give your subconscious a deadline. For example you could write, "I expect a full report by the end of the week!" It may seem silly to talk to yourself in this way, but give it a try. Now close up the letter and put it away.

Unbeknownst to you, your subconscious will continue to think about the problem. When the deadline approaches, open up the letter and read it. Chances are that at that point (or possibly earlier) you will have experienced a flash of insight with a potential solution.

Everything you need to know in order to build a structure...from how much lumber, drywall, paint, insulation, etc. you'll need, to how much 'crete. Great resource.

This page shows often misused homonyms and the correct spelling and usage. It should be required reading for anyone who writes anything on paper or has a blog.
An example of just one that's misused quite often:

'To' = in a direction, toward
'Too' = also
